Quick News Post.

Published on April 25, 2012 by in News

While we gather ourselves from Kitacon a couple of weeks ago, I must first apologize for the lack of the a showcase post in the past month. We’ve having some issues with our galleries that I have not been able to rectify fully. Although hoping that I can spend a weekend on it so you’ll have someone new to shower praises on.

Speaking of Kitacon, both myself and Digi did record our sets. Mine is already live if you follow the Soundcloud link below, and I’ll add Digi’s as soon as I can.

In other Kitacon news, the wonderful Nert has made a video. I implore you to watch it. It’s amazing.

Kitacon Sunday: Road To Redemption

Published on March 19, 2012 by in News

The Kitacon Prom has always been something of a formal affair but without wanting to enforce certain restrictions on people, we’d like to encourage everyone to dress up for this first half of Kitacon’s Sunday soiree, however you don’t have to be in formal outfits to attend.

The Road to Redemption will be a slow affair to start off with live performers and later in the evening DJ Shenny leading the charge into the final hours. The Prom will also feature the vocal talent from previous Kitacon’s as Hollie Caddock and Lucy Belle Guthrie join violinist Masa Futagami to perform live renditions of some beautiful music for you to dance too. After their performances we will be crowning the first King and Queen of the Prom.

As the night progresses, the cuffs come off as the final two hours countdown to the end of Kitacon. The aim of the last party is to bring everyone together and play the music you want to hear. The best of the weekends music compacted into one whole party.

Schedule*

20:00 – Doors Open
20:15 – Hollie “LYRA” Caddock
20:40 – Masa “Masa-kun” Futagami
21:00 – Lucy Belle “Lorelei” Guthrie
22:30 – King & Queen Crowning
23:00 – Final Party (by DJ Shenny and DJ Digi)

*Subject to change without prior notice.

Live Singers / Performers

Hollie Caddock

Hollie “LYRA” Caddock (formally AKiRA) is currently a cover artist on the English convention scene. She is currently trying to branch out and find some original material for in both English and Japanese. LYRA has already performed at Kitacon 2010 and MCM London Expo in October 2010.

Masa Futagami

Masa “Masa-kun” Futagami an electric violinist who performs in various Japanese culture related events in the UK. Most known events include MCM, Hyper Japan and Ayacon. Through music he wishes to return something to all those who have taken an interest in Japanese culture, as a result he wishes to play your favourite songs for you while also trying to prove that the violin is not only an instrument for only “classical” music.

Lucy Belle Guthrie

Lucy Belle “Lorelei” Guthrie has been singing on a semi-professional level since 2003 and has worked with numerous recording artists and her vocals have even appeared in “My Bed Is My Castle” on Mahogany’s “Connectivity!” album. Her vocals often lend themselves beautifully to ballads, which is why her soft voice is perfect for those Japanese slow dance songs.
